Rohde & Schwarz and ELT Group to supply electronic warfare systems for European Navies
Rohde & Schwarz has selected ELT Group to provide electronic warfare components for German Navy frigates and new Polish Navy multirole frigates.
German technology group Rohde & Schwarz and Italian defense company ELT Group have signed a contract for the supply of electronic warfare (EW) systems. The agreement focuses on bolstering the capabilities of European navies.
The contract covers components for EW systems to be integrated into the German Navy's three F124 Sachsen-class frigates and the Polish Navy's three new Miecznik-class multirole frigates. These systems are designed to enhance situational awareness, early warning capabilities, and the self-protection of naval vessels.
Rohde & Schwarz will supply and integrate its communications, radar electronic support measures (C-ESM/R-ESM), and radar countermeasures (R-ECM) systems from the R&S KORA family. ELT Group will provide key components for the R-ESM and R-ECM systems, based on their advanced technological solutions.
This partnership builds on previous collaborations, including the F126 frigate project for the German Navy. Both companies expressed their commitment to a successful execution and highlighted the development as a significant milestone for German-Italian defense cooperation.
