Rohde & Schwarz and NETGEAR Collaborate on Wi-Fi 8 Access Point Testing
Rohde & Schwarz, a test and measurement equipment supplier, and NETGEAR, a networking technology manufacturer, are collaborating on testing for next-generation Wi-Fi 8 access points. NETGEAR will use Rohde & Schwarz's CMP180 tester to accelerate product development.

Rohde & Schwarz and NETGEAR have entered into a collaboration to develop and test next-generation Wi-Fi 8 access points. NETGEAR has selected Rohde & Schwarz's CMP180 radio communication tester for its design validation process.
The CMP180 tester will enable NETGEAR to speed up the development of high-performance Wi-Fi products. Wi-Fi 8, based on the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, aims to enhance wireless connectivity with ultra-high reliability and low latency for applications such as gaming, augmented reality, and virtual reality.
This new Wi-Fi standard will support features like distributed resource units and unequal modulation with up to 320 MHz wide channels. The Rohde & Schwarz CMP180 is designed to meet these demands, supporting Wi-Fi 8 alongside other wireless technologies like Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 7, and 5G NR FR1.
The tester's capabilities accommodate various stages of development, from engineering validation to mass production. This partnership underscores the importance of advanced testing solutions in bringing cutting-edge wireless technologies to market efficiently and with guaranteed quality.
