Rohde & Schwarz and Vantage Towers Sign MoU for 5G Broadcast Commercialization
Rohde & Schwarz and Vantage Towers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the commercialization of 5G Broadcast (5GB) technology in Europe. The agreement aims to support the technology's commercial rollout from 2026 onwards.

Rohde & Schwarz, a company specializing in broadcast transmission, and Vantage Towers, a leading European tower company operating over 86,000 sites, have signed an MoU to accelerate the commercial deployment of 5G Broadcast (5GB) technology across Europe. This partnership is set to support the technology's widespread adoption starting in 2026.
The agreement outlines a collaborative effort to develop the business and market readiness for 5G Broadcast. The technology is expected to serve diverse applications, including live and linear content, automotive services beyond entertainment, venue-specific broadcasting, and public warning systems. A key objective is to ensure consistent coverage and high service quality for end-users.
Rohde & Schwarz will leverage Vantage Towers' extensive infrastructure network and neutral host expertise. Vantage Towers manages telecommunication sites across ten European countries. They aim to create an innovative go-to-market model by combining Vantage Towers' assets with Rohde & Schwarz's comprehensive portfolio of network solutions and industry relationships.
The collaboration will initially focus on facilitating 5G Broadcast network rollouts in key European markets, with plans for future expansion to additional regions. This partnership is poised to significantly influence the evolution of the broadcast and telecommunications sectors by establishing 5G Broadcast as a flexible content delivery solution.
