Rohde & Schwarz appoints new Technology Systems Division leadership
Hansjörg Herrbold and Andreas Hägele will take over as Executive Vice Presidents Technology Systems at Rohde & Schwarz from July 1, 2026.

German technology group Rohde & Schwarz has announced leadership changes within its Technology Systems Division. Hansjörg Herrbold and Andreas Hägele are set to assume the roles of Executive Vice Presidents Technology Systems, effective July 1, 2026. They will succeed Dr. Luis Alejandro Orellano, who is departing the company on June 30 at his own request.
The company stated that the move to a dual leadership structure is a strategic step to align the division more closely with customers and evolving markets. Rohde & Schwarz highlighted the extensive experience of both Herrbold and Hägele.
Herrbold brings over 20 years of experience within Rohde & Schwarz's defense sector, with a significant track record in areas such as naval communications. He most recently led the Information and Business Technology Division and served as a member of the corporate management team.
Hägele possesses significant expertise in critical infrastructure and physical security. During his tenure, he established the Microwave Imaging business unit and was instrumental in the success of the R&S QPS security scanner, which is deployed at over 2,000 airport checkpoints worldwide. Previously, he held a managing director role at a digital security firm.
In their new capacities, Herrbold and Hägele will both be members of the Rohde & Schwarz Corporate Management. The company, founded over 90 years ago, operates globally in test & measurement, technology systems, and network & cybersecurity.
