Rohde & Schwarz hits 10,000-unit milestone for M3SR Radio 4400

Rohde & Schwarz announced the production of its 10,000th R&S M3SR Radio 4400 in March 2026. The milestone marks over two decades of manufacturing for the V/UHF radio series, which has evolved through four generations since its introduction in 2001.

The radio serves as a core component for military radar stations and naval command and control centers. According to the company, the device's software-defined architecture is intended to allow for long-term capability updates, enabling users to adapt the hardware to evolving technical requirements without full system replacements.

Manufacturing takes place at the company's facility in Memmingen, Germany. Markus Dolfen, Vice President of Secure Communications, attributed the sustained demand to the firm's vertical integration and ability to iterate on the design. The company confirmed that further software updates for the radio series are scheduled for release later in 2026.
