Rohde & Schwarz Introduces New Liquid-Cooled Transmitter Series
Rohde & Schwarz has launched the R&S®TH1 liquid-cooled transmitter series, aiming to reduce carbon footprint and energy costs. The new series also supports 5G Broadcast technology.
Munich – Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the R&S®TH1 liquid-cooled transmitter series, designed to reduce the broadcasting industry's carbon footprint and energy expenses. The company states the new series consumes 15% less energy compared to current efficient designs and boasts a 50% smaller carbon footprint than the installed base.
The new transmitter series features a fully sealed, fan-less amplifier design, intended to reduce maintenance needs and enhance reliability. The design also focuses on efficient waste heat management, with 90% of heat dissipated externally to minimize local thermal load.
Furthermore, the R&S®TH1 is engineered to support emerging broadcast applications, including the commercial deployment of 5G Broadcast. This capability aims to unlock new revenue streams through direct-to-mobile transmissions and data delivery for Internet of Things (IoT) and automotive sectors.
