Rohde & Schwarz Introduces New R&S RTB 2 Oscilloscope
Rohde & Schwarz has launched the R&S RTB 2 oscilloscope, succeeding the R&S RTB2000. The new model features an integrated arbitrary waveform generator and expanded memory.

Munich – Technology company Rohde & Schwarz has introduced its new R&S RTB 2 oscilloscope. The device was unveiled at the company's presentations during the electronica 2024 trade fair in Munich.
The R&S RTB 2 is an evolution of the earlier R&S RTB2000 model, which was the first entry-level oscilloscope to offer touchscreen operation and 10-bit vertical resolution. Rohde & Schwarz has upgraded the device with an integrated arbitrary waveform generator and increased memory capacity to 160 Mpts in segmented mode.
The waveform generator can produce signals up to 25 MHz and supports data rates of 50 Mbits/s. It allows for the simulation of real-world conditions by adding noise and includes predefined patterns for common protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN/LIN. The instrument is described as a "10-in-1" tool, combining oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and protocol analyzer functions, making it suitable for students and hobbyists.
Rohde & Schwarz states that the R&S RTB 2 offers enhanced performance and expanded features. The instrument is available in two- and four-channel models with bandwidths ranging from 70 MHz to 300 MHz. The entry-level model, with 70 MHz and two channels, is priced starting at 1,690 euros.
