Rohde & Schwarz launches R&S®ADD607 compact DF antenna

Munich – Rohde & Schwarz has launched the R&S®ADD607 compact direction-finding (DF) antenna, designed to meet the needs of spectrum regulators and military spectrum managers operating in high-density signal environments.

The new compact antenna integrates hardware for HF (High Frequency) and SHF (Super High Frequency) bands into a single unit. This streamlines field operations and speeds up response times. It replaces the need for multiple antennas for different frequency bands, simplifying logistics and installation while accelerating field deployments.

The device features an integrated active-passive switch that helps prevent signal overload while still detecting weak signals. This switch is immune to interfering signals, enabling precise measurements even in dense urban environments where strong interference sources, such as mobile phone base stations, can disrupt traditional equipment.

Philipp Strobel, Product Manager at Rohde & Schwarz, stated: "Our customers require reliable equipment in crowded signal landscapes. The R&S®ADD607 combines the widest frequency range on the market, 9 MHz to 20 GHz, with a very compact form factor. The innovative active-passive switch flexibly preserves measurement accuracy even close to powerful transmitters."

The antenna can be seamlessly integrated with other Rohde & Schwarz systems, including the R&S®PR300, R&S®PR200, and R&S®UMS400, for building mobile and transportable monitoring stations. The company has focused on mobile applications rather than fixed installations.
