Rohde & Schwarz orders exceed 3 billion euros

Munich – Technology group Rohde & Schwarz has successfully concluded the challenging fiscal year 2022/2023, the company announced Monday. For the first time in its 90-year history, the group's order intake surpassed three billion euros. Revenue increased to 2.78 billion euros. According to the company, its focus on security and connectivity has positioned it well in growth markets.

The fiscal year was marked by complex global challenges, including geopolitical uncertainty and difficult economic conditions. Despite this, Rohde & Schwarz achieved a positive operating result. As of June 30, 2023, the company employed approximately 13,800 people worldwide.

The company's diversified test and measurement (T&M) portfolio proved advantageous, particularly in the aerospace and defense sectors and the automotive industry, which is driving the transition to electromobility and autonomous vehicles. Rohde & Schwarz is also actively involved in developing future wireless communication technologies like 6G.

Rohde & Schwarz has also strengthened its role as a provider of digital sovereignty solutions. Secure communication and reconnaissance technologies have seen demand from government and public sector clients. Furthermore, the company has expanded into artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, including its involvement in developing the AI backbone for Europe's Future Combat Air System (FCAS).

Despite geopolitical tensions, Rohde & Schwarz also achieved successes in air traffic security solutions. The company's security scanners have been deployed at U.S. airports, and a nationwide radio modernization program for air traffic control was completed in Germany.
