Rohde & Schwarz presents new air traffic control technologies at Airspace World

German technology company Rohde & Schwarz will present its latest advancements in air traffic control (ATC) technology at Airspace World 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland, from March 8-10. The company will focus on its comprehensive CERTIUM® product portfolio and other solutions aimed at shaping the future of air traffic management.

The CERTIUM® communications suite, covering the entire communication chain from microphone to antenna, will be a central exhibit. This includes the R&S Series5200 ATC radio, which features a security-by-design architecture, cost-efficient maintenance, and strong RF performance across VHF and UHF bands. The fully IP-based CERTIUM VCS voice communication system will also be demonstrated, leveraging IP technology for enhanced security and resilience.

A new product launch at the event is the R&S®EVSD1000 VHF/UHF nav/drone analyzer. This signal and modulation analyzer is designed for use aboard medium-sized drones to perform measurements on ground-based navigation systems such as ILS and VOR during installation, maintenance, and servicing. The analyzer can also be used for analyzing ATC communication signals.

Rohde & Schwarz will also showcase other solutions, including a high-power HF transmitter with a small footprint, the R&S AVQA system for voice quality assurance, solutions for identifying and locating calling aircraft, and systems for detecting and countering non-cooperative drones. The LDACS (L-band Digital Aeronautical Communications System) standard for future air-to-ground communications will also be featured.

In addition to product displays, Rohde & Schwarz will host expert talks focusing on key trends and challenges in air traffic management, with a specific emphasis on resilient infrastructure for an integrated future airspace.
