Rohde & Schwarz Presents Wi-Fi 7 Test Solutions at MWC 2024
Rohde & Schwarz is showcasing its latest Wi-Fi 7 test solutions at MWC 2024. These solutions are designed to meet the increased test challenges for wireless device research, development, and production.

Rohde & Schwarz is presenting its latest Wi-Fi 7 test solutions at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, addressing the growing test complexities for wireless devices in research, development, and production.
As 5G technology evolves, non-3GPP networks like public, home, and enterprise WLAN hotspots are becoming more integrated with the 5G core. Future smartphones will increasingly rely on next-generation WLAN technologies, such as Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be). This new standard promises significantly higher data throughput and lower latency, supporting demands from applications like ultra-high-definition video streaming and virtual/augmented reality.
The company is exhibiting its R&S CMX500 multi-technology, multi-channel signaling tester, now equipped with Wi-Fi 7 testing capabilities. This single instrument allows for comprehensive testing of the latest wireless devices across both cellular and WLAN standards. Additionally, the R&S CMP180 radio communication tester will demonstrate its ability to verify signal waveforms with a 480 MHz bandwidth, offering a future-proof solution beyond current Wi-Fi 7 requirements.
Rohde & Schwarz will also demonstrate the R&S CMX500's capability to test seamless traffic offloading and interworking between 5G and WLAN. The new integrated Non-3GPP Interworking Function (N3IWF) gateway simplifies testing for Voice over WLAN applications, ensuring call quality through POLQA measurements.
