Munich – Technology group Rohde & Schwarz has concluded its 2024/2025 fiscal year with record results, surpassing the three billion euro revenue mark for the first time in the company's history. Revenue increased by 7.8 percent to EUR 3.16 billion. The order backlog also reached a new record, exceeding EUR 5 billion.
The company has successfully navigated a challenging global and geopolitical environment to achieve this growth. Strong performance was noted particularly in the defense and security sectors, while the test and measurement business remained stable due to a diversified product portfolio. The workforce has expanded to over 15,000 employees worldwide, with nearly 10,000 based in Germany.
Rohde & Schwarz continues to invest heavily in research and development, dedicating a double-digit percentage of its revenue to advancing key technologies such as frequencies above 100 GHz, millimeter waves, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors. The group is also planning further expansions of its production facilities in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Malaysia.
The robust order situation in the defense and security sectors reflects ongoing geopolitical tensions. Rohde & Schwarz is supplying communication systems for major defense projects in Europe and Australia. Artificial intelligence is increasingly integral to defense technology, with the company involved in developing AI solutions for initiatives like the European Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
In civil aviation, the company plays a crucial role in safety. Rohde & Schwarz USA received a significant order from the Federal Aviation Administration to replace analog communication infrastructure. Furthermore, the group is expanding the deployment of its millimeterwave security scanners at airports globally and developing solutions for drone detection and defense.
