Rohde & Schwarz Revenue Surpasses Three Billion Euros for First Time
Technology group Rohde & Schwarz reported its revenue exceeded three billion euros for the first time in its history, reaching EUR 3.16 billion amid a challenging global environment. The company also saw its order backlog hit a record high.

Munich – Rohde & Schwarz has concluded the 2024/2025 fiscal year with a record revenue of EUR 3.16 billion, surpassing the three-billion-euro mark for the first time. This represents a 7.8 percent increase in revenue compared to the previous year, achieved despite a volatile geopolitical and economic climate.
The technology group's order backlog also reached an all-time high of over EUR 5 billion, with a positive operating result. Strong business performance was particularly noted in Germany, Europe, and North America. The company's growth has been accompanied by an expansion of its workforce to over 15,000 employees worldwide, with nearly 10,000 based in Germany.
As a privately owned company, Rohde & Schwarz emphasizes financial independence and long-term strategic planning to ensure resilience and competitiveness. The company has invested approximately EUR 300 million in its production capacity over recent years and is planning further expansions at facilities in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Malaysia. A double-digit percentage of revenue is consistently reinvested in research and development, focusing on key technologies such as frequencies above 100 GHz, millimetre wave (mmWave), artificial intelligence (AI), and semiconductors.
Significant orders in the security and defense sectors have bolstered the company's performance, including supplying command and control radios for German Navy frigates and communication systems for Australia's Hunter-class frigates. Rohde & Schwarz is also contributing to Europe's Future Combat Air System (FCAS) by developing an AI-driven backbone. In civil aviation, the company recently secured a major contract from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to modernize air traffic communication systems. Their millimeter-wave security scanners have also seen widespread deployment at international airports.
Despite a challenging market for test and measurement equipment, Rohde & Schwarz's diversified product portfolio has maintained stability. The company is actively researching future wireless communication technologies, including 6G, and exploring the role of AI in mobile networks. Breakthroughs have been made in AI-supported wireless communications in collaboration with NVIDIA.
