Rohde & Schwarz revenue surpasses three billion euros for first time

Munich, Germany – Technology group Rohde & Schwarz announced it has surpassed the three billion euro revenue mark for the first time in its history. For the fiscal year 2024/2025, the company reported a 7.8 percent increase in sales, reaching 3.16 billion euros. The order backlog also hit a record high of over five billion euros.

The company's performance demonstrates resilience despite a volatile geopolitical and global economic climate. Growth was seen in both the security and defense sectors, as well as stability in the test and measurement business, attributed to a diversified product portfolio. Rohde & Schwarz has invested in its workforce, value creation, and key technologies to maintain competitiveness, increasing its global employee count to over 15,000.

As a family-owned enterprise, Rohde & Schwarz emphasizes financial independence and long-term strategic planning. The company consistently invests a double-digit percentage of its revenue in research and development, focusing on future technologies such as frequencies above 100 GHz, mmWave, artificial intelligence (AI), and semiconductors. Approximately 300 million euros have been invested in production capacities, with further expansions planned in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Malaysia.

Demand for security and defense solutions remains high due to geopolitical tensions. Rohde & Schwarz is supplying communication systems for the German Army's D-LBO program and has secured significant naval projects, including equipping Australian Hunter-class frigates. The company is also involved in the European Future Combat Air System (FCAS) project, developing AI capabilities for data analysis and mission planning.

In civil aviation, Rohde & Schwarz secured a contract with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to modernize communication infrastructure. The company has also expanded its deployment of millimeterwave security scanners at airports, with over 2,000 units installed globally. Additionally, Rohde & Schwarz is enhancing its drone detection and defense solutions, including a partnership with TRUMPF.
