Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary ipoque unveils AI-driven encrypted traffic analysis
Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary ipoque is showcasing its AI-powered deep packet inspection (DPI) technology for encrypted traffic at MWC Barcelona 2025. The solution aims to enhance network security and performance without decryption.

ipoque, a subsidiary of Rohde & Schwarz, is presenting its new Encrypted Traffic Intelligence (ETI) solution at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The technology utilizes deep packet inspection (DPI) and artificial intelligence (AI) to identify and analyze encrypted network traffic flows without the need for decryption.
The ETI solution is integrated into ipoque's R&S®PACE 2 and R&S®vPACE products. It employs machine learning and deep learning algorithms to classify encrypted, obfuscated, or anonymized traffic with high accuracy. This enables real-time application awareness, dynamic network shaping, and optimized resource allocation, aiming to improve network efficiency and subscriber experience for telecom operators.
The technology addresses the growing challenge of understanding network traffic due to the increasing volume of encrypted data. Traditionally, analyzing encrypted traffic without decryption has been difficult, potentially leading to privacy and performance concerns. ETI identifies protocols, applications, and service types by analyzing traffic packet characteristics and behavioral patterns.
This solution is expected to help telecom operators enhance network management, identify security threats more effectively, and optimize overall network performance. ipoque will demonstrate its technology at MWC Barcelona from March 3-6, 2025.
