Rohde & Schwarz supplies combat net radio to German Armed Forces

Munich – Rohde & Schwarz announced it is continuing deliveries of combat net radios (CNR) to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) under a digital modernization program. These radios, based on the Joint Service Interoperable Radio Equipment (SVFuA) system already in use by German forces, will equip multiple operational platforms and soldiers in command functions.

The selected CNR systems include vehicle, handheld, base station, and backpack radios, along with tactical radios for airborne platforms. They provide secure, jam-resistant networking using the Bundeswehr's national waveforms, while also offering European interoperability via the ESSOR OC1 waveform.

Alexander Philipp, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Vertriebs-GmbH, stated, "We are very proud of the selection to equip our land forces with top-notch communications solutions." He added that the high-rate deliveries of radio equipment facilitate timely provision of cutting-edge technology to the Army, marking a significant step towards the Bundeswehr's modernization and digitalization, aligning with Germany's NATO and EU commitments.

Rohde & Schwarz emphasized that these deliveries enhance the Bundeswehr's capabilities and support its mission-critical operations. The company has been a supplier to the German military since contracts were signed in December 2022, with production now delivering significant quantities of communication devices to equip the armed forces.
