Rohde & Schwarz to equip Portuguese Air Force Super Tucano aircraft with SOVERON AR radios
The Portuguese Air Force will equip its new Embraer A-29N Super Tucano aircraft with SOVERON AR airborne radios from Rohde & Schwarz. Deliveries of the aircraft are scheduled to begin this year.

The Portuguese Air Force (FAP) is set to become the launch customer for the Embraer A-29N Super Tucano NATO-standard aircraft, with initial deliveries of the light attack aircraft scheduled for this year.
These turboprop aircraft will be equipped with Rohde & Schwarz's SOVERON AR airborne software-defined radios (SDR). These radios are designed to provide reliable and secure radio communications links in challenging environments, enabling real-time transfer of data, voice, and navigation information between widely dispersed elements.
The A-29N Super Tucano will be fitted with up to two R&S®MR6000R VHF/UHF airborne transceivers from the SOVERON AR SDR family. These units offer integrated frequency hopping methods, HAVE QUICKII, and SATURN. Additionally, the R&S®SECOS algorithm provides COMSEC and TRANSEC capabilities.
