Chinese smart glasses manufacturer Rokid has officially commenced sales of two distinct smart glasses models in Germany. The Rokid Ai Glasses Neo and Rokid Glasses aim to provide advanced functionalities for both consumer and enterprise markets.
The Rokid Ai Glasses Neo operates without an integrated display, positioning itself as a competitor to devices like the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. It features speakers, microphones, and a camera capable of 4K video recording. Interaction is possible through voice commands in twelve languages, touch input, or head gestures, with support for translation in 89 languages. The dual-chip design allows for up to twelve hours of active use, and the glasses accommodate corrective lenses up to ±15 diopters.
The Rokid Glasses model incorporates a dual display utilizing Micro-LED technology and waveguide technology. This digital display offers a 30-degree field of view, a resolution of 640x480 pixels, and a brightness of up to 1500 nits. Information is presented in green, enabling features such as visual navigation aids, translations, and a teleprompter function. Corrective lenses are available as separately purchased magnetic inserts.
Both Rokid glasses models support the integration of two different AI models: OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. The Rokid Ai Glasses Neo is priced at 449 euros, placing it competitively between Ray-Ban Meta glasses (starting at 419 euros) and their new Optics models (starting at 469 euros). The Rokid Glasses with the monochrome dual display are available starting from 699 euros.
