Roland Launches Melody Flip AI Music Generation Tool
Music hardware company Roland has entered the generative AI music space with the launch of Melody Flip, a plug-in for digital audio workstations. The tool offers AI-generated musical elements based on genre themes and user input.

Roland, known for its electronic musical instruments, is venturing into generative artificial intelligence with its new Melody Flip tool. The plug-in, designed for digital audio workstations (DAWs), aims to assist musicians by generating musical components.
Melody Flip provides users with approximately 250 "Palettes," which are curated collections of musical ideas categorized by genre. Users can initiate the process by requesting AI-generated melodies, chord progressions, basslines, or drum patterns. Alternatively, the tool can analyze a reference track to generate new musical ideas inspired by the provided audio.
Unlike some other AI music platforms that produce complete songs, Melody Flip focuses on generating individual musical elements. This approach positions the tool as an aid for composers and producers looking to find inspiration or quickly generate foundational musical ideas within their existing workflows.
The introduction of Melody Flip signifies Roland's strategic move into the evolving landscape of AI-powered music creation, offering a new option for musicians integrating technology into their creative process.
