Ropedia Launches Academic Program for Physical AI Research
Singapore-based startup Ropedia has launched an academic partner program, providing researchers access to its HOMIE Gen2 platform for physical AI data collection. Nanyang Technological University is among the first institutions trialing the system.
Singaporean startup Ropedia has introduced an academic partner program designed to facilitate research in physical artificial intelligence. The program grants researchers and academic institutions access to Ropedia's HOMIE Gen2 platform, enabling the capture of real-world multimodal data crucial for robotics and embodied intelligence.
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore was one of the initial academic collaborators to trial the platform. Researchers from NTU's College of Computing and Data Science are currently utilizing the system to gather data and train models for embodied AI.
Ropedia, which has previously raised $30 million to scale its physical AI data infrastructure, aims to accelerate real-world data collection for the burgeoning field of physical AI applications.
The initiative aligns with Singapore's broader strategy to advance research, testing, and deployment of physical AI, including the development of a dedicated testbed in the Punggol Digital District.
