Rot-Weiss Essen prepares for Niederrhein Cup Final

Rot-Weiss Essen is gearing up for the Niederrhein Cup final against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, scheduled for Saturday at Stadion an der Hafenstraße. At a press conference preceding the match, RWE head coach Christoph Dabrowski stressed his team's objective to "invest maximally" while approaching the game with "a certain degree of relaxation."

Dabrowski described the match as a season highlight, noting the team's high motivation to perform and win despite facing a challenging opponent. He indicated that Andreas Wiegel and Meiko Sponsel are definitely out due to injury, but Rio Alonso and Michel Niemeyer might return to the squad. Felix Bastians is available for selection.

On the opposing bench, RWO coach Mike Terranova anticipates a tough contest. He stated that both teams are feeling the pressure to win, and that this match holds particular significance for him as it marks his final game in charge of Oberhausen. He expressed a desire for "the most beautiful possible farewell" with a cup victory.

Terranova confirmed that Daniel Davari will start in goal. He acknowledged that the three-week break before the final allowed the team to relax and enjoy their training, believing they have made the most of it. Both sides are expected to deliver an intense and emotional encounter in front of their supporters.
