Rothman Orthopaedics and Highmark Reach Agreement for In-Network Access
Rothman Orthopaedics and Highmark have reached an agreement ensuring Rothman remains in-network for Highmark members. The decision prevents disruptions in patient care.
Rothman Orthopaedics and Highmark Blue Shield have finalized an agreement that keeps Rothman within Highmark's network, including Federal Employee Program (FEP) plans. This resolution follows discussions aimed at addressing outstanding concerns and ensuring continued patient access to necessary orthopedic care.
Under the terms of the agreement, Highmark has rescinded its termination notice. Consequently, Rothman physicians and services will remain accessible within Highmark's Pennsylvania networks. While contractual details may still be under discussion, both entities have committed to maintaining Rothman's in-network status, thereby avoiding patient disruption and ensuring care continuity.
"Our shared priority throughout these discussions has been the patients and members we serve," stated Dan Tropeano, segment president of Highmark Blue Shield. "Collaboratively, we reached a resolution that maintains continuity of care, minimizes disruption, and supports ongoing access to high-quality, affordable orthopedic services."
Rothman Orthopaedics provides musculoskeletal care across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida. Highmark Blue Shield is a statewide health insurer in Pennsylvania, offering health insurance solutions to residents in the region.
