Rotoplas Reports Q2 Loss Despite Sales Growth; Cites Argentina Impact
Grupo Rotoplas, an Americas provider of water solutions, reported a net loss of 201 million Mexican pesos for its second quarter, primarily due to financial costs in Argentina, despite a 3.4% increase in net sales.

MEXICO CITY – Grupo Rotoplas S.A.B. de C.V. reported a net loss of 201 million Mexican pesos for the second quarter of 2026, a significant downturn from a 42 million pesos profit in the same period last year. The company attributed the loss to finance costs linked to its monetary position in Argentina and increased tax provisions.
Despite the net loss, the company's net sales increased by 3.4% year-over-year, reaching 3.04 billion Mexican pesos. Both product sales, up 3.2%, and service sales, up 4.7%, contributed to the growth. The services segment saw particular strength from its bebbia subscription service, which surpassed 193,000 active subscribers by the end of the quarter.
Adjusted EBITDA grew by 11.0% to 409 million Mexican pesos, with the margin expanding to 13.4% from 12.5% in the prior year's second quarter. Operating profit saw a 4.8% increase, reaching 217 million Mexican pesos. Rotoplas also highlighted a strengthening of its financial structure, including the prepayment of a bond and the closure of a new seven-year loan, which reduced its net debt to EBITDA leverage ratio.
CEO Carlos Rojas Aboumrad noted that the quarter confirmed the company's recovery in a challenging environment marked by currency volatility and raw material cost pressures. He pointed to the United States business achieving its fifth consecutive quarter of positive EBITDA. Rotoplas stated its continued commitment to innovation to enhance water access for its customers.
