RTL Deutschland Expands NFL Rights

RTL Deutschland is launching the new NFL season with a substantial expansion of its broadcasting rights. The broadcaster will air more than 200 live games across the 2026/27 to 2028/29 seasons. This expansion makes RTL's NFL offering more comprehensive than ever before in the German-speaking region.

With the expanded deal, RTL Deutschland and Sky Sport will now broadcast up to nine NFL games per week. New to the schedule are the league's three weekly night games: "Thursday Night Football" on Friday mornings, "Sunday Night Football" on Monday mornings, and "Monday Night Football" on Tuesday mornings.

Additionally, the traditional Sunday afternoon and evening games will continue to be broadcast on RTL. The company stated its goal is to make American football even more accessible to a wider audience in the German-speaking market.

The acquisition of these new rights follows RTL Group's earlier purchase of the pay-TV broadcaster Sky. The agreement covers the entire German-speaking region, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
