Rudolstadt Festival Attracts 90,000 Visitors

The Rudolstadt Festival in Thuringia concluded on Sunday, drawing an estimated 90,000 visitors. Festival director Petra Rottschalk confirmed that this figure met their target, adding that the event would not pursue pre-pandemic attendance levels due to limitations in parking and accommodation capacity for cars and caravans.

The festival's safety concept also caps daily attendance at 20,000 people. This year saw an average of 19,800 daily attendees, with an additional 10,000 visitors coming through on top of that, according to Rottschalk. The total attendance of 90,000 did not surpass previous records.

This year's festival featured over 120 acts from 30 countries, spanning various genres. Mali was the focus country, showcasing its rich musical heritage with artists like the renowned "guitar god" Vieux Farka Touré, Baba Sissoko, and the Le Mali 70 Earkestra.

Favorable weather conditions prevailed, and a nearby forest fire did not impact the festival. Organizers plan to maintain the event's diverse program while also focusing on attracting a younger demographic in future editions.
