RUNGIS express improves sales and efficiency with Board platform
Fresh food supplier RUNGIS express GmbH has increased per-order purchase values and improved gross margins by 2-3% after implementing Board Intelligent Planning.

Fresh food supplier RUNGIS express GmbH, or R express, has achieved significant improvements in its sales and operational efficiency following the implementation of the Board Intelligent Planning platform. The company reports an increase in per-order purchase values and a 2-3% improvement in gross margins.
The new system enables R express's sales team to provide customers with tailored support and optimal service through fast, customized reports and self-service analyses. Additionally, the procurement department benefits from enhanced transparency, facilitating daily purchases of fresh goods in correct quantities and at favorable prices.
R express is one of Germany's largest suppliers of premium ultra-fresh food to hotels, restaurants, and caterers. With over 45 years of experience, the company is recognized for its deep food expertise and customer-centric support. Previously, information management relied on Excel and smaller tools from its ERP system, leading to fragmentation and inefficiencies, particularly with a rapidly changing fresh produce inventory.
Thomas Bartmann, Business Intelligence Analyst at R express, highlighted the need for faster decision-making. "Required information reached responsible persons too late, slowing down company management and delaying necessary decisions," Bartmann stated. The adoption of Board addressed this challenge by seamlessly integrating planning, analysis, and reporting, while enabling independent application development without external assistance.
