Indian rural commerce startup Wheelocity has secured more than ₹82 crore (approximately $8.5 million) in an ongoing funding round, according to the company's regulatory filings. The capital infusion includes contributions from new and existing backers.
The startup has raised a total of ₹82.36 crore across three tranches. The latest, in June, brought in ₹54.99 crore from EE-FI (Elevar Equity) AIF. Earlier, the company had raised ₹16.32 crore from investors including Lightspeed India Partners and Grand Anicut Fund.
Wheelocity founder and CEO Selvam VMS declined to comment on the funding round, stating it is still active. Founded in 2021, Wheelocity operates a technology-driven network for delivering fresh produce and grocery products to semi-urban and rural markets across India.
Originally functioning as a B2B supply chain partner for e-commerce platforms, Wheelocity transitioned to a consumer-facing model in October 2023. The company now operates a hybrid online-offline model, enabling consumers to order via its app or purchase directly from branded electric carts in villages.
Wheelocity claims to serve over 500,000 households in more than 3,300 villages and employ over 1,500 rural workers. This latest funding increases the startup's total capital raised to over $35 million to date.
