Rural Development Partners Invests $12 Million in Virginia Forestry Sector Expansion

Rural Development Partners LLC (RDP) has invested $12 million in New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) to support Carolina Structural Systems (CSS) as it expands its operations to Emporia, Virginia. This expansion aims to create 58 new jobs and stimulate economic development within Virginia's forest products industry.

The investment will fund the construction and equipping of a new 53,480-square-foot manufacturing facility. The strategically located plant will serve major markets ranging from Richmond, Virginia, to Atlanta, Georgia, reinforcing the regional footprint of forestry products and promoting responsible growth.

New Markets Tax Credits were instrumental in CSS's decision to expand to Emporia. The program enables CSS to quickly scale operations, invest in employee training, and ensure the facility reaches full production capacity efficiently. This development is anticipated to bring significant long-term economic and community benefits to the region.

Carolina Structural Systems, founded in 2016, manufactures custom wood trusses and structural wood products. The company serves the residential and light commercial construction markets, focusing on delivering quality products on time and at competitive prices.
