Russo's New York Pizzeria Opens Second Arizona Location in Tempe

Russo's New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen has opened its newest restaurant in Tempe, Arizona, located at 521 S. College Avenue, near the Arizona State University campus.

Locally owned and operated by franchisees Kristina and Christian Alvarez, the new Tempe eatery brings Russo's signature New York-style pizza and fresh-scratch Italian cuisine to the area. This opening represents the chain's second location in Arizona and is part of its ongoing expansion across the Southwest and the United States.

Founder Chef Anthony Russo emphasized the restaurant's commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and traditional preparation methods. He described the approach as a "fresh-scratch kitchen," avoiding pre-made frozen dough and artificial flavors. The pizza dough undergoes a 24-hour fermentation process to achieve its distinct flavor and texture.

The company is continuing its national expansion through franchising, offering various restaurant formats, including smaller footprints starting around 1,500 square feet. Russo's also provides financing resources and offers incentives for qualified franchisees, including discounts for U.S. military veterans.
