Ruukki and SSAB donate roofing products for Ukraine reconstruction
The NGO OperationAid will receive roofing products from Ruukki and SSAB to support the reconstruction of housing in Ukraine. The donation will enable the repair or replacement of roofs for up to 15 houses.
Steel company SSAB and its subsidiary Ruukki Construction are again donating Ruukki roofing products this year to the non-governmental organization OperationAid. The initiative aims to support the reconstruction of housing in Ukraine affected by the ongoing conflict.
The donation includes roofing profiles, flashings, and fasteners, sufficient to rebuild the complete roofs of up to 15 houses or to make smaller repairs to dozens more. These products are manufactured from SSAB's color-coated steel at Ruukki's plant near Kyiv during December.
OperationAid is an NGO focused on identifying urgent needs and delivering humanitarian aid within Ukraine. SSAB and Ruukki Construction previously supported Ukraine through similar product donations in 2022 and 2023.
Ruukki Construction maintains a workforce of 63 employees at its Kopyliv plant near Kyiv, who continue production despite the war. The company emphasizes the importance of personnel safety and acknowledges the contribution of its employees and SSAB in making this donation possible.
