Building envelope manufacturer Ruukki Construction has launched the Ruukki Expression® system, which combines energy-efficient sandwich panels with customized facade designs. This system allows for images, text, or patterns to be applied directly to the exterior of the panels, providing extensive design possibilities for architects and developers.
The Ruukki Expression® system utilizes high-quality, UV-resistant foil applied at the factory under controlled, dry conditions to ensure accuracy and durability. The panels are delivered in the correct assembly sequence. Ruukki offers a comprehensive service, from initial design to final delivery. The system is engineered to enhance building energy efficiency and airtightness, potentially leading to energy cost savings of up to 40% and improving a building's energy classification.
The new system is suitable for various building types and has already been implemented in several reference projects. Examples include the Sthlm 04 office building and the Bilia car wash facility in Sweden, which feature custom graphics on their facades. In Finland, Ruukki's sandwich panels were used in the HAMK near-zero energy building project.
