R+V Versicherung AG is focusing its efforts on rapidly processing insurance claims resulting from widespread flooding. The company has so far received around 2,000 damage reports from customers and anticipates further notifications. In a statement, the insurer emphasized the priority of swift damage assessment and handling to assist affected clients as quickly as possible.
The Wiesbaden-based insurer has established a dedicated 24-hour hotline for flood-related claims. R+V has also reinforced its claims adjuster teams by dispatching personnel from across Germany to support damage assessment in flooded areas. Through a network of partners, including automotive damage specialist carexpert and Sprint Sanierung GmbH, which operates extensive drying equipment, the company aims to accelerate reconstruction and repair work.
R+V urges customers with elemental insurance coverage to report their damages without delay. Once the water recedes, it is advisable to promptly engage drying services and obtain cost estimates for repair work. Documenting damaged items with photographs and keeping a record of purchase prices will also expedite the claims process.
The insurance company also provides guidance on avoiding hazards in the aftermath of floods, including ensuring structural safety, addressing risks of gas leaks and electric shocks, and managing contaminated food and water. The advice stresses the importance of contacting professionals such as electricians and emergency services when necessary.
