At the R+V Insurance sustainability dialogue held in Hamburg, climate expert Claudia Kleinert and R+V's Head of Sustainability Philipp Bäcker discussed the impacts of climate change and the role of companies in promoting sustainable development.
Kleinert emphasized during the event that the effects of climate change are now palpable to everyone and that sustainability has become a necessity. She believes that current crises and global instability can only be overcome through collective action.
According to Kleinert, corporate sustainability involves long-term customer relationships and corresponding products. Bäcker concurred, stating that the core principle of insurance is solidarity. He equated sustainability with future viability.
The event also featured R+V's fourth sustainability dialogue, focusing on climate risk and the imperative of climate protection. Aimed at banking partners, the dialogue seeks to collaboratively advance the transition to a more sustainable society.
