Marvel Studios confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that Ryan Gosling will portray the character Ghost Rider in an upcoming film. The solo movie, directed by Shawn Levy, is scheduled for a global release in 2028.

Ghost Rider is a well-known character in Marvel Comics, with the most iconic iteration being motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze, who makes a pact with a demon to become a fire-wielding vigilante. This casting brings the character back to the big screen.

Previous Ghost Rider films were released in 2007 and 2011, starring Nicolas Cage, but these were not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continuity. The new film is expected to align with the larger MCU narrative.

Marvel Studios also unveiled a new teaser poster for "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" at the event, hinting at the appearance of Doctor Doom.
