S-Payment GmbH's new study analyzes consumer behavior towards evolving payment methods, including instant payments and cryptocurrencies.

S-Payment GmbH has released a new study examining consumer payment habits as digital technologies become increasingly prevalent. The report delves into areas such as instant payments, in-app transactions, and cryptocurrencies, which are rapidly reshaping the payments landscape.
The study, "Das Bezahlverhalten der Verbraucher:innen 2024" (Consumer Payment Behavior 2024), is based on a comprehensive survey conducted in collaboration with Delphi Research, interviewing 2,500 consumers in Germany. Its aim is to understand consumer attitudes towards emerging payment solutions, which methods are currently in use, and their expectations for future payment systems.
The research highlights how both physical and e-commerce are converging through the rise of digital and smarter payment solutions. Technologies like instant payments, peer-to-peer transfers, and embedded payments are altering consumer spending patterns. Simultaneously, concepts once considered futuristic, such as cryptocurrencies and a potential digital euro, are gradually becoming reality.
S-Payment's investigation seeks to answer questions relevant to those shaping the future of payments. It provides insights into consumer awareness and acceptance of various payment methods, emphasizing the significance of convenience. The findings are intended to inform the development of payment services and foster innovation within the industry.
