Saab Demonstrates Deployable Corrosion Protection System for U.S. Air Force
Saab conducted a demonstration in Sweden with the USAF Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) of a new deployable corrosion protection and control capability. The system aims to modernize aging aircraft corrosion control facilities.

Defense and security company Saab hosted the USAF Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) in Ljungbyhed, Sweden, from August 25 to September 3, 2025, for the test and demonstration phase of its Deployable Corrosion Protection and Control Capability (DCPCC) program. Personnel from the 51st Maintenance Squadron at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, also participated.
The two-week testing period focused on validating requirements for USAF aircraft paint and corrosion control operations. The RSO awarded Saab a contract to develop the DCPCC in May 2024, addressing an urgent need to update aging facilities that struggle to keep pace with global aircraft maintenance demands.
The DCPCC leverages Saab's existing Deployable Aircraft Maintenance (DAM) facility concept. DAM hangars are configurable and scalable solutions used by several NATO countries to support aircraft operations in austere and dispersed locations. The DCPCC integrates the DAM system with a new module for advanced paint and corrosion control applications.
