Saab receives approval for AI-equipped Arexis order
Saab's second order for the Arexis Electronic Warfare system from Airbus has received authority approval. The order includes artificial intelligence technology.

Swedish defense company Saab has received the necessary authority approval for a second order of its Arexis Electronic Warfare (EW) sensor suite. The system is intended to equip German Eurofighters.
The initial order, placed by Airbus Defence and Space on November 14, 2025, was divided into two parts. The second of these has now met its condition for authority approval, notably incorporating artificial intelligence technology developed by both Saab and its strategic partner, Helsing. This development has led Saab to book approximately EUR 258 million as order intake in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The Arexis system is designed for electronic warfare operations, including jamming and reconnaissance. The integration of AI is expected to enhance the system's ability to rapidly detect and respond to threats in complex scenarios.
This approval finalizes a significant portion of the contract announced in November 2025, aimed at upgrading Germany's Eurofighter fleet. The order reinforces Saab's position in the European defense market for advanced EW capabilities.
