Saab receives order for TAURUS KEPD 350 sub-components and modernization

Swedish defense company Saab has secured an order valued at SEK 1.7 billion for the maintenance and modernization of the German Air Force's TAURUS KEPD 350 cruise missiles. The contract period spans from 2025 to 2035.

The order includes significant system upgrades and modernization to enhance the capabilities of the German Air Force's TAURUS missiles, alongside a ten-year life cycle maintenance agreement. Saab received this order from TAURUS Systems, a joint venture between MBDA Germany and Saab, which is the prime contractor. The initial order was placed by Germany's Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw).

Görgen Johansson, Head of Saab's business area Dynamics, stated that the TAURUS KEPD 350 enables users to defeat targets at long ranges, essential for demanding air operations, and that the latest upgrades will provide significant improvements for the German Air Force.

The TAURUS KEPD 350 is an air-launched cruise missile with a range exceeding 500 kilometers, designed for engaging static ground-based targets.
