Saab receives SEK 2.9 billion order from FMV for future fighter system concepts
Swedish defence company Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) for continued concept work on future fighter systems. The order value is approximately SEK 2.9 billion.
Saab has secured an order from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) for further concept development concerning future fighter systems. The contract is valued at approximately SEK 2.9 billion (about €250 million) and covers the period from 2026 to 2028, with options extending to 2029 and 2030.
The scope of the contract involves developing and demonstrating new technologies for future combat aircraft systems. This work includes the creation of flying and ground-based demonstrators, alongside advanced studies and the development of concepts for both manned and unmanned future system configurations.
The programme is designed to enhance Sweden's national capabilities in key areas such as systems integration, autonomy, and advanced technologies. This initiative aims to ensure the continued relevance and advancement of Sweden's defence capabilities in response to evolving security environments.
