Saab rolls out first two-seat Gripen F fighter
Saab has unveiled the first Gripen F fighter aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force. The two-seat variant is developed in partnership with Brazilian industry to enhance training and operational performance.

Swedish defense and security company Saab rolled out the first Gripen F fighter aircraft destined for the Brazilian Air Force on June 2. The ceremony took place at Saab's facilities in Linköping, Sweden.
The Gripen F is the two-seat variant of the Gripen E series, designed to meet the training and operational requirements of modern air forces. It combines conversion training and combat capabilities on a single platform. Brazil, as the launch customer, played an active role in the co-development of the two-seat variant.
Through an extensive technology transfer program, Brazil has trained hundreds of engineers and technicians, strengthening its national industrial base's expertise in advanced design and development.
"The rollout of Gripen F represents a shared achievement between Saab, Brazilian industry, and the Brazilian Air Force, reflecting the deep trust we have built together over many years," said Lars Tossman, head of Saab's Aeronautics business area. He added that the advanced fighter is not only a capable combat aircraft but also a tangible outcome of sustained joint development and shared ambition.
