Saab selected to deliver digital air traffic control tower for Warsaw Modlin Airport
Swedish defense firm Saab will supply a next-generation digital air traffic control tower for Warsaw Modlin Airport in Poland. The solution will enable remote air traffic control operations and enhance airport efficiency and flexibility.

Swedish defense and security company Saab has been selected to deliver its next-generation Digital Tower system to Warsaw Modlin Airport in Poland. The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) chose Saab for the system and to establish an operations center in Warsaw.
The solution will allow air traffic to be controlled remotely from PANSA's new operations center in Warsaw, irrespective of weather conditions. This makes Warsaw Modlin Airport the first in Poland to operate with a digital air traffic control tower. The system is designed for potential expansion to other Polish airports.
Saab's Digital Tower solution includes high-resolution 4K cameras and advanced display functionalities for both day and night operations. The airport will also implement a Multi-Lateration System (MLAT) for enhanced surveillance and tracking throughout all flight phases, ensuring all-weather operational capabilities. The system is built for integration with future technologies like AI and Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM).
With a proven track record of successful Digital and Remote Tower implementations worldwide, Saab aims to lead the evolution of digital air traffic control technology, enabling safer, more flexible, and efficient airport operations.
