Swedish defense company Saab announced on May 18 that it has received an order from France for its Giraffe 1X radar system. The contract includes integration of the radar onto tactical vehicles manufactured by Scania.

The order was placed by France's Direction générale de l'Armement (DGA). Saab will collaborate with Scania France to fulfill the contract. Specific financial details and the delivery timeline were not disclosed.

The Giraffe 1X is a short-range, multi-role radar designed for detecting and tracking various aerial threats, including aircraft, helicopters, and drones. Its compact size and mobility are cited as key advantages for tactical deployment.
