Saab's Arexis Selected for German Eurofighter EW Variant
Germany's defence procurement office (BAAINBw) has selected Saab's Arexis system as the preferred solution for the German Eurofighter's electronic warfare (EW) variant. A contract has not yet been signed.

Germany's Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has chosen Saab's Arexis system as the preferred solution for an electronic warfare (EW) variant of the German Eurofighter fleet. While the selection has been made, Saab has not yet signed a formal contract or received an order.
Last year, German officials announced their intent to equip 15 of the German Air Force's Eurofighters for EW missions. The progression with Saab's Arexis follows the results of a market survey recently conducted by BAAINBw. The survey assessed products from European and international EW providers, considering aspects such as performance, integration, and the route to certification.
Saab intends to carry out a major part of the work at its facility in Bavaria, Germany, in collaboration with its artificial intelligence partner, Helsing. Saab's Arexis system is a modular EW solution that utilizes advanced hardware and software, including high-end AI algorithms, to maintain a superior capability in complex electromagnetic environments.
The EW variant of the Eurofighter aims to enhance the aircraft's ability to identify, locate, and jam enemy radar and other electronic threats on the battlefield. This selection solidifies Saab's position in the defense industry and its role in European defense cooperation.
