Saber Healthcare Group Reports Data Incident
Saber Healthcare Group has announced a security incident that may have affected personal information. A service outage in July was caused by unauthorized access to its network and file encryption.

Saber Healthcare Group announced today a security incident that may have affected personal information belonging to certain individuals. On July 27, 2026, the company detected a service outage impacting some of its internal and external computer systems.
An investigation, conducted with the assistance of outside cybersecurity experts, determined that an unauthorized party gained access to Saber Healthcare Group's corporate network. This party encrypted a portion of files, which resulted in the service disruption. The company restored inaccessible files from unaffected backups within 24 to 48 hours. Saber's electronic medical record system, maintained by a separate third-party provider, was not affected, and no evidence suggests the medical record database was accessed or copied.
The investigation found that the compromised files may contain individuals' names along with one or more of the following: date of birth, driver's license or state ID number, health insurance information, medical information, financial account details, passport number, and/or Social Security number. Saber Healthcare Group began notifying affected individuals by mail on August 19, 2026, after completing a review of the potentially impacted files.
In response to the incident, Saber Healthcare Group is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected individuals. The company has also implemented additional security measures and stated that no ongoing unauthorized activity has been detected since. Individuals are advised to remain vigilant by reviewing credit reports and account statements for any suspicious activity.
