Safeture Founded on Lessons Learned from Global Crises

Safeture AB, a Swedish company specializing in employee safety and risk management solutions, was founded based on CEO Lars Jarnung's direct experiences during multiple global crises.

Jarnung's journey began in 2003 during the SARS epidemic, when he traveled to China and Hong Kong as a medical researcher. He observed significant gaps in information from local authorities, despite being in the midst of the emerging disease's epicenter. A year later, following the Indian Ocean tsunami, Jarnung led medical personnel to Thailand and encountered further challenges in coordinating and locating injured individuals.

In 2008, Jarnung was present during the Mumbai terror attacks in India. During the events, he worried about conference attendees staying at a hotel that became a target. These experiences, coupled with the earlier crises, solidified his resolve to create a solution for better information access and safety during emergencies.

Driven by frustration and concern, Jarnung developed a technical concept and secured a patent for it. Partnering with Andreas Rodman, an engineer with extensive technical expertise, they founded Safeture to develop a technological solution aimed at enhancing the safety of travelers and employees worldwide.

Safeture's mission is to equip companies and organizations with tools for managing risks and ensuring the safety of their personnel operating internationally, leveraging the critical lessons learned from Jarnung's firsthand experiences in crisis situations.
