Aerospace firms Safran and Bombardier Inc. announced at the Paris Air Show 2025 a new partnership aimed at the joint development of defense technologies. The companies signed a letter of intent to explore opportunities for collaboration, leveraging their complementary expertise.

The agreement is intended to create a framework for innovation and the rapid industrial scaling of new solutions to meet evolving defense needs. This initiative highlights the companies' commitment to advancing technology within the defense sector.

Safran CEO Olivier Andriès stated that strengthening the partnership is strategic, enabling the acceleration of innovation. "By combining our strengths, we'll be well placed to accelerate innovation and deliver the advanced defense technologies of tomorrow," Andriès said.

Bombardier CEO Éric Martel affirmed the collaboration's focus on leveraging respective expertise. "Bombardier and its more than 18,000 people stand ready to help our nations meet their evolving defense needs," Martel commented.

The partnership aligns with a recent joint statement by French Prime Minister François Bayrou and Quebec Premier François Legault, who identified the aerospace sector as a priority for strengthening economic ties between Quebec and France.
