Sage Accounting updates introduce new features for small businesses

Sage has released a series of enhancements for its Sage Accounting software, focusing on improving financial management for small businesses and accountants. The updates, driven by customer feedback, aim to make daily tasks easier, faster, and simpler.

Key new features include a streamlined quote and estimate approval process, allowing single-click actions and providing reasons for rejection. Payment processing is enhanced through GoCardless integration, enabling automated direct debit payments for recurring invoices. This integration is designed to reduce time spent on chasing payments and improve customer experience.

The 'Plus' plan now includes enhanced budgeting capabilities, assisting users in creating, editing, and managing budgets, alongside performance tracking reports. Sales invoice improvements offer easier viewing of invoice history and status, with real-time notifications for activities like delivery errors or Stripe payments.

Further updates address stock management and expense capture. Users can now perform bulk updates to stock quantities and pricing via file import, and the mobile app allows for on-the-go receipt capture. Batch management for recurring invoices, including activation, deactivation, and cancellation, has also been introduced, alongside improved sorting and searching functions.

The software also introduces easier ways to create refunds and reorder lines within sales invoices. Exporting and importing contact and product data is simplified, and advanced reporting allows users to drill down into financial data directly from summary statements.
