Sage Acquires Spherics, Enhances Products and Expands Sports Partnerships
Accounting software provider Sage announced several strategic developments on Wednesday, including the acquisition of carbon accounting solution Spherics and expanded product functionalities.

Accounting software provider Sage revealed multiple strategic announcements on Wednesday during its annual Sage Transform customer event in Orlando, Florida. Key among the updates were the acquisition of carbon accounting solution Spherics, expanded capabilities and market reach for Sage Intacct, and further integration with Microsoft products.
The acquisition of Spherics signifies Sage's commitment to sustainability, aiming to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) measure and reduce their carbon emissions. Concurrently, Sage is extending the availability of its Sage Intacct solution into continental Europe, beginning with France, and introducing new vertical-specific functionalities.
The company is also deepening its partnership with Microsoft. New integrations allow customers to manage daily tasks, such as approving expenses or reviewing leave requests, directly within Microsoft Teams. This streamlines workflows by reducing the need to switch between different applications.
Furthermore, Sage announced a new sports partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB), set to commence in the 2023 season. The collaboration will involve content related to pitching decisions and manager insights. Sage will also support MLB's Diverse Business Partners Program.
These initiatives collectively underscore Sage's strategy to solidify its position as a trusted network for SMBs by providing tools that enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
