Sage and Village Capital Award $190,000 in Grants to Impact Entrepreneurs
Sage and Village Capital have awarded a total of $190,000 in grants to eight businesses in the Sage Impact Entrepreneurship program. The companies focus on addressing social and environmental challenges.

Financial technology company Sage, in partnership with Village Capital, has awarded $190,000 in grants to eight businesses from the second cohort of its Sage Impact Entrepreneurship program. The grants were distributed through a pitch competition, with individual companies receiving up to $50,000.
The program, which includes twenty-five businesses, brings together founders, investors, and mentors to accelerate the growth of impact-driven enterprises. This year's cohort features companies from the US, UK, and Europe, focusing on solutions for waste reduction, circular consumption, sustainable food systems, and community resilience.
Companies were evaluated on their business and impact models using Village Capital's peer-selection methodology. CIRT and Recovolt received the largest grants of $50,000 each. An additional four companies were awarded $10,000 grants based on audience votes.
Recipients focus on areas such as circular economy software platforms, clean water technology, AI-powered insurance, and the development of bio-based materials. Businesses involved in EV battery recycling and renewable energy investment modeling also received funding. Helen Devanny, Vice President for Sage Foundation, highlighted the program's commitment to supporting ventures at the intersection of sustainability and social impact.
