Sage Launches "Authentic Intelligence" AI for Business Needs

Software provider Sage has launched "Authentic Intelligence," an initiative that aims to deliver practical artificial intelligence (AI) solutions tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). The company asserts that this approach moves beyond marketing hype, focusing instead on addressing tangible business challenges and enhancing day-to-day operations. Central to this strategy is Sage Copilot, an AI assistant designed to streamline administrative tasks, provide critical insights, and support faster decision-making.

Sage emphasizes that "Authentic Intelligence" is grounded in real business experiences and customer feedback. Developed by a global team of over 400 engineers and data scientists, the AI is trained on the company's proprietary insights and expertise, rather than on general internet data. The objective is to create tools that can anticipate, advise, and actively support business processes.

CEO Steve Hare, whose background includes roles as an accountant and CFO, has guided the development with an emphasis on practical utility and accuracy. "It’s got to be real. And it’s got to be right," Hare stated regarding the company's philosophy on AI development. Sage is also introducing the "AI Trust Label," designed to ensure transparency in how its AI operates and how customer data is protected.

The initiative seeks to build trust in AI tools by offering clear information about their functionalities, data security measures, and built-in safeguards. Sage aims to foster economic growth for SMEs, aligning with its long-standing commitment to supporting these businesses.
